Welcome to oakleigh house
Our house is a country bed and breakfast approximately 1.5miles from Newcastle, County Down, so you can combine the easy access to beach, shops, and restaurants with the tranquility of the countryside. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful refuge to rest your travel weary bones for a night or two, come stay with us......we enjoy having guests stay in our home.
Oakleigh is made up of a main house, a granny flat and a B&B annexe. A garden in front and fields at the back with a lovely view of the Mourne Mountains. Safe off road parking is provided for your car and cycles and motor bikes can be locked in the garage overnight if required.
We specialise in providing accommodation for couples and single travellers, but groups of up to 6 quests can reserve the whole B&B annexe and so use it as a serviced flat.
Rooms and Facilities
The rooms are on the ground floor and guests have their own private entrance so can come and go as they please. We have three en-suite rooms with power showers and towels and toiletries are provided. Two of the rooms have a double bed and the third room is a twin bedded room with two single beds. All rooms have rural views, central heating, television and Wifi. Arrival time is usually between 4pm and 6pm but if you need an earlier or later arrival time a phone call will guarantee that someone is here to greet you
A choice of breakfast menu is offered, and is served between 8am and 10am, but earlier breakfasts can be arranged to suit your travel plans. A mini bar is always available providing a selection of teas, coffee, drinking chocolate and biscuits and these can be taken to your room or enjoyed in the sunroom with its lovely view of the Mourne Mountains. There are many lovely restaurants in Newcastle only 5mins drive away, but if you wish to bring in a take-away meal, cutlery, plates and tables are provided in the sunroom. A hairdryer and iron are available. Oakleigh is a non smoking house.
We will try to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible and hope you enjoy the beauty of the Mountains of Mourne.
